Benjamin Harrison was President when an apothecary shop (an early version of a modern drug store)—one that sold ice cream as well—-opened on Main street in the Cape Cod town of Yarmouthport in 1889. In Harry Truman's time sandwiches and a soda fountain were added to the tasty offerings, and now, over 50 years later, Hallet's Store is still popular with people of all ages.
