After brief stops at what are now called Provincetown and Eastham, the Mayflower sailed westward toward what would be its famous destination, Plymouth, Massachusetts.  Along the way those on the port side undoubtedly saw places like this, never imagining that centuries later this particular place in Dennis would be called Mayflower Beach.  It must have looked pretty much the same then as it does now.
