About the farthest thing from the hostile take-overs we read about on the financial page is a take-over of the floral kind: the roses spill out everywhere in their abundance. This village fairly shouts "roses" in the sleepy sunny summer days of vacation time,where lots of painters and photographers go to enjoy the seaside scenes.

Just don't call this town "sigh-a-skonset" or they'll know you're a mainlander; it's simply pronounced "skonset".
